Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps in achieving a good sear. Rub the steak with olive oil on both sides.

  2. 2

    Apply Seasoning

Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and garlic powder evenly over both sides of the steak. Press the seasoning into the meat gently to ensure it adheres well.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, around 450°F (232°C). This will help to sear the steak and lock in the juices.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steak on the hot grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side until you achieve a nice sear.

  3. 5

    Flip and Continue Grilling

Using tongs, flip the steak and grill for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare doneness. Adjust cooking time based on your preferred level of doneness.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
