Fried Mushrooms
Chipotle Ranch Sauce
Method
Fried Mushrooms
- 1
Prepare the Mushrooms
Clean the button mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt. Cut off the stems if they are tough or woody.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate bowls, set up a breading station: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with salt, pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese.
- 3
Bread the Mushrooms
Dip each mushroom first into the flour, coating it evenly. Shake off excess flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers and is hot but not smoking.
- 5
- 6
Serve
Once all mushrooms are fried, serve them hot, sprinkled with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
Chipotle Ranch Sauce
- 7
Mix the Sauce
In a medium bowl, combine the ranch dressing, chipotle in adobo sauce, lime juice, and garlic powder. Stir well until fully combined.
- 8
Season the Sauce
Taste the sauce and add salt and black pepper as desired for seasoning.
- 9
Serve
Transfer the chipotle ranch sauce to a serving dish and serve alongside the fried mushrooms.
