Chicken Preparation

Breading Mixture

Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the chicken breast fillets into strips, about 1 inch wide. Season the chicken strips with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated with the seasonings.

Breading Mixture

  1. 2

    Prepare the Breading

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, and cayenne pepper. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until smooth. Set both bowls aside.

Frying

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test if the oil is hot enough by dropping a small amount of the breading mixture into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.

  2. 4

    Coat the Chicken

Take each chicken strip, dip it first into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat it in the flour mixture. Press the coating onto the chicken to ensure it sticks well.

  3. 5

    Fry the Chicken Tenders

Carefully place the coated chicken strips into the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, turning occasionally. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  4. 6

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, remove the chicken tenders from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauces.
