Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined; do not overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is slightly larger than the burger buns. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Burger Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping the patties, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half. You can toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 7

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, layer the lettuce leaves, followed by a cooked patty with melted cheese, then add slices of tomato and pickles.

  3. 8

    Condiments

Add ketchup and mustard to taste on the top half of the bun, then place it on top of the assembled burger.
