Chicken Wings

Method

Preparing the Chicken Wings

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Wings

Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This step is important for achieving crispiness.

  3. 3

    Season the Wings

In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings with salt, black pepper, and baking powder. Toss to coat the wings evenly.

  4. 4

    Arrange the Wings

Place the seasoned wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Ensure they are spread out in a single layer.

  5. 5

    Add Oil

Drizzle the vegetable oil over the wings and toss them gently to ensure they are evenly coated.

Making the Buffalo Sauce

  1. 6

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the stick of unsalted butter over low heat.

  2. 7

    Combine Ingredients

Once melted, add the hot sauce, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and honey. Stir to combine.

  3. 8

    Simmer the Sauce

Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Cooking the Chicken Wings

  1. 9

    Bake the Wings

Place the baking sheet with the chicken wings in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

  2. 10

    Coat with Sauce

Remove the wings from the oven and transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the wings and toss to coat evenly.

Making the Blue Cheese Dressing

  1. 11

    Mix Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, crumbled blue cheese, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 12

    Whisk to Combine

Whisk the ingredients together until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.

  3. 13

    Chill the Dressing

Cover the dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Serving

  1. 14

    Serve the Wings

Plate the buffalo chicken wings and serve hot with the blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping.
