Toppings

Method

Preparing the Sausage Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Sausage Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine ground pork, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried sage. Mix until thoroughly combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into 4oz patties.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patty

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausage patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and browned.

Cooking the Egg

  1. 4

    Prepare the Egg

In the same skillet, add butter and let it melt over medium heat. Crack the egg into the skillet and cook until the whites are set but the yolk is still runny, about 3-4 minutes.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the egg is cooking, toast the sweet sourdough buns on a separate pan or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place the sausage patty, followed by a slice of American cheese. Top with the fried egg and any optional toppings, then place the top half of the bun on.
