Fried Pickles

Ranch Dipping Sauce

Method

Fried Pickles

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the dill pickles from the jar and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Make the Battering Mixture

In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Wet Mixture

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Batter the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice into the wet mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the dry batter mixture until fully coated.

  6. 6

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully place the battered pickles into the hot oil in batches. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.

  7. 7

    Drain and Serve

Once fried, remove the pickles using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm.

Ranch Dipping Sauce

  1. 8

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and milk.

  2. 9

    Mix Thoroughly

Stir all the ingredients together until smooth and well combined.

  3. 10

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the ranch dipping sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
