Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to about 1/2 inch thickness.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Sandwich

Lay out the pounded chicken breasts. On each piece, place 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of Swiss cheese. Roll the chicken tightly around the fillings and secure with toothpicks if needed.

Breading

  1. 3

    Prepare the Breading Stations

Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour mixed with salt, pepper, and garlic powder; one with beaten eggs; and one with bread crumbs.

  2. 4

    Bread the Chicken

Dredge each rolled chicken in the flour, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat with bread crumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Fry the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken rolls and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Bake the Chicken

Transfer the fried chicken to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Sandwich

Remove the toothpicks from the cooked chicken and place each chicken cordon bleu on a brioche bun. Top with pickles as desired.
