Method
Preparation of the Ribeye
- 1
Marinate the Ribeye
Place the 16 oz ribeye steak in a shallow dish. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle salt, black pepper, garlic powder, chopped fresh rosemary, and thyme over both sides of the steak. Rub the seasoning into the meat to ensure it adheres well.
- 2
Let the Steak Rest
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let the steak marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor.
Grilling the Ribeye
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F).
- 4
Grill the Steak
Remove the ribeye from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes. Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it.
- 5
Flip and Cook
Flip the steak and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if you desire a more well-done steak. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (130°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium).

- 6
Rest the Steak
Remove the ribeye from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
- 7
Serve with Sides
Slice the ribeye against the grain and serve with your choice of two sides such as steamed broccoli, mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, or Caesar salad.
