Burger Patties

Method

Prepare the Slaw

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Toss until all ingredients are well mixed.

  2. 2

    Chill the Slaw

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Prepare the Pork Patties

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 4

    Form Patties

Divide the pork mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.

  3. 5

    Cook the Patties

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice golden brown crust.

  4. 6

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of smoked cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 7

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on a separate skillet or under a broiler.

  2. 8

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a pork patty with melted cheddar. Top with Mama Lil's peppers, a generous drizzle of Carolina Gold BBQ sauce, and a scoop of slaw. Place the top half of the bun on each burger.
