Pork Belly
Tangy Sauce
Method
Preparing the Pork Belly
Season the Pork Belly
Rub the pork belly with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Ensure an even coating on all sides.
Sear the Pork Belly
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork belly and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Slow Cook
Transfer the seared pork belly to a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the meat is tender.
Making the Tangy Sauce
Combine Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until well combined.
Simmer the Sauce
Pour the mixture into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Let it cook for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
Serving
Slice and Serve
Once the pork belly is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice it into bite-sized pieces and drizzle with the tangy sauce before serving.
