Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Octopus

Rinse the octopus under cold water, removing any beak or innards. Pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the mixture and stir well.

  3. 3

    Marinate the Octopus

Place the cleaned octopus in the marinade, ensuring it's fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (up to 4 hours for more flavor).

Grilling

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 200°C or 400°F).

  2. 5

    Grill the Octopus

Remove the octopus from the marinade and shake off excess. Grill on each side for about 3-4 minutes until charred and tender.

  3. 6

    Finish with Lemon

Once grilled, remove the octopus from the grill and squeeze the juice of the remaining lemon over it. Let it rest for a few minutes.

  4. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Chop fresh parsley and sprinkle over the grilled octopus before serving. Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side.
