Veal Preparation

Spaghetti

Method

Veal Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Veal

Season the veal cutlets with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Bread the Veal

Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Dredge each veal cutlet in flour, dip it in the eggs, and then coat it with breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Veal

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the breaded veal cutlets to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Cheese Topping

  1. 4

    Add Cheese to the Veal

Place the sautéed veal cutlets in a baking dish. Top each cutlet with equal parts romano, parmesan, and mozzarella cheese.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 5

    Make the Marinara Sauce

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, black pepper, and chopped basil. Let simmer for 15-20 minutes.

  2. 6

    Combine Sauce and Veal

Once the sauce is ready, pour it evenly over the veal cutlets in the baking dish.

Baking

  1. 7

    Bake the Veal

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Spaghetti

  1. 8

    Cook the Spaghetti

While the veal is baking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve the Dish

Plate the cooked spaghetti and top with the veal parmesan. Garnish with additional fresh basil if desired.
