Chop Vegetables
Finely chop the onion, carrot, and celery. Mince the garlic cloves.
Cooking the Sauce

Add Garlic
Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

Brown the Meat
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until it's browned all over.

Add Tomato Ingredients
Stir in the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, and beef broth. Mix well.

Season the Sauce
Add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer.

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer uncovered for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
