Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook Manicotti Shells

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully add the manicotti shells and cook for 6-8 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.

Ricotta Cheese Mixture

  1. 2

    Prepare the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and set aside.

Stuffing the Manicotti

  1. 3

    Stuff Manicotti Shells

Using a spoon or a piping bag, carefully stuff each manicotti shell with the ricotta cheese mixture until filled. Be gentle to avoid breaking the shells.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Assemble the Dish

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom. Arrange the stuffed manicotti shells in a single layer on top of the sauce.

  2. 5

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed manicotti. Sprinkle the top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.

Baking

  1. 6

    Bake the Manicotti

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve

Remove the manicotti from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with extra parsley if desired.
