Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Once the yeast is activated, pour it into the flour mixture along with the olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  6. 6

    Shape the Dough

Punch down the risen dough, then shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.

  7. 7

    Second Rise

Cover the loaf with a damp cloth and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

  8. 8

    Bake the Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 9

    Make Garlic Butter

In a mixing bowl, combine softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt. Mix until well combined.

  2. 10

    Prepare the Bread

Once the bread is baked and slightly cooled, slice it in half lengthwise.

  3. 11

    Spread Garlic Butter

Generously spread the garlic butter mixture on both halves of the bread.

  4. 12

    Final Bake

Place the bread back in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the butter is melted and the bread is golden.

  5. 13

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
