Method
Fried Fresh Mozzarella
- 1
Prepare the filling
Take each fresh mozzarella ball and gently cut a small slit in the side. Stuff each ball with a slice of prosciutto, ensuring it's well-packed.
- 2
- 3
Bread the mozzarella
Coat each stuffed mozzarella ball first in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and finally roll in breadcrumbs until fully coated.
- 4
Heat the oil
In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the mozzarella
Carefully place the breaded mozzarella balls in the hot oil, frying in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Marinated Tomatoes
- 6
Prepare the marinade
In a bowl, combine cherry tomatoes, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, chopped fresh basil leaves, salt, and black pepper. Toss gently to coat.
- 7
Marinate
Let the tomatoes marinate for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Aged Balsamic Glaze
- 8
Reduce the balsamic vinegar
In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring the aged balsamic vinegar to a simmer. Reduce the heat and let it simmer until it thickens and reduces by half, around 10-15 minutes. Allow to cool.
