In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and stir in the fettuccine. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes.

Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the fettuccine in a colander and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
Sauce Preparation
- 3
Melt the Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the 4 tablespoons of butter.
- 4
- 5
Add Sweet Cream
Pour in the sweet cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
- 6
Incorporate Parmesan Cheese
Gradually add the parmesan cheese to the cream mixture, stirring until it melts and the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
- 7
Season the Sauce
Add black pepper and salt to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
