Fish Preparation

Piccata Sauce

Method

Fish Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish

Rinse the fresh fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the fillets with olive oil.

Blackening Spices

  1. 2

    Mix Blackening Spices

In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to create a blackening spice blend.

  2. 3

    Apply Spice Blend

Sprinkle the blackening spice mixture generously over both sides of the prepared fish fillets, pressing lightly to adhere.

Cooking Methods

  1. 4

    Grilling

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates. Grill the fish fillets for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and charred.

  2. 5

    Blackened

Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until very hot. Add a small amount of olive oil. Place the seasoned fish fillets in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until blackened and cooked through.

  3. 6

    Piccata Preparation

In the same skillet after cooking the fish, melt butter over medium heat. Add capers and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in lemon juice and simmer for another minute.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Serve the grilled or blackened fish fillets topped with the piccata sauce. Garnish with chopped parsley.
