Escargot

Toast Points

Method

Preparing the Escargot

  1. 1

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic cloves, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Escargot

If using canned escargot, drain and rinse them under cold water. If using fresh escargot, ensure they are cleaned and purged properly. Place the escargot in their shells or a baking dish.

  3. 3

    Fill with Garlic Butter

Spoon the prepared garlic butter mixture generously into each escargot shell or over the escargot in the baking dish.

Preparing the Toast Points

  1. 4

    Slice the Baguette

Cut the French baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices on a diagonal.

  2. 5

    Brush with Olive Oil

Lay the slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil. Sprinkle garlic powder evenly over the slices.

  3. 6

    Toast the Bread

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the slices in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Flip halfway through baking.

Baking and Serving

  1. 7

    Bake the Escargot

Place the filled escargot shells in a baking dish or arrange the escargot in a single layer in the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 10-12 minutes, or until the garlic butter is bubbling.

  2. 8

    Serve Hot

Remove from the oven and serve immediately with the toasted points on the side for dipping into the garlic butter.
