Method

Preparing the Sriracha Aioli

  1. 1

    Make the Aioli

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and Sriracha. Mix well until fully incorporated. Adjust the Sriracha to taste for desired spiciness. Set aside.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 2

    Form the Patties

In a bowl, mix the ground beef, salt, and black pepper until just combined. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about ½ inch thick.

  2. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of Gruyere cheese on each. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the desired doneness is reached.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 4

    Prepare the Bun

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Spread a generous amount of Sriracha aioli on both the top and bottom halves of the toasted buns. Place the cooked patty with melted Gruyere on the bottom half, followed by a handful of arugula and a few rings of red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
