Cook the Fettuccini
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccini and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Chicken
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from the skillet, let rest for a few minutes, then slice into strips.

Make the Alfredo Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, add heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, and salt. Continue to stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth, about 3-5 minutes.

Combine Everything
In a large bowl, combine the cooked fettuccini, sautéed mushrooms, sliced chicken, and Alfredo sauce. Toss until everything is well coated with the sauce.
