Method

Steak Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps in even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, until a nice crust forms.

  4. 4

    Add Flavor

Flip the steak and add butter, garlic cloves (crushed), and rosemary to the skillet. Baste the steak with the melted butter for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust time to desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes Directions

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into chunks. Place them in a pot and cover with cold water.

  2. 7

    Cook the Potatoes

Add a pinch of salt to the water and bring it to a boil. Cook the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes or until fork-tender.

  3. 8

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  4. 9

    Serve

Spoon the mashed potatoes onto a plate and serve alongside the sliced ribeye steak.
