Method
Preparation of Topping
- 1
Chop the Tomatoes
Wash the cherry tomatoes thoroughly and cut them into quarters. Place them in a mixing bowl.
- 2
Prepare the Basil
Rinse the fresh basil leaves, pat them dry, and roughly chop them. Add to the bowl with tomatoes.
- 3
Add Garlic and Seasoning
Peel and mince the garlic cloves, then add to the mixing bowl with the chopped tomatoes and basil. Pour in the balsamic vinegar, and season with salt and black pepper. Gently toss everything together until well combined.
Toasting the Bread
- 4
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 5
Slice the Baguette
Using a serrated knife, slice the French baguette diagonally into 1/2-inch thick slices.
- 6
Brush with Olive Oil
Place the sliced baguette on a baking sheet and brush each slice with olive oil, ensuring both sides are coated.
- 7
Toast the Bread
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast the bread for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
Assembling the Bruschetta
- 8
Top the Toasts
Using a spoon, generously top each toasted slice of baguette with the tomato and basil mixture.
- 9
Serve Immediately
Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately while the toast is still warm.
