Wonton Filling

Method

Wonton Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Filling

In a bowl, combine ground pork, ground chicken, minced shrimp, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and chopped green onions. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

  2. 2

    Fill the Wontons

Take a wonton wrapper and place about a teaspoon of filling in the center. Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle, then seal the edges tightly. You can also bring the two corners together to form a traditional wonton shape.

  3. 3

    Repeat

Repeat the filling process until all the filling is used up. Set the filled wontons aside on a floured surface to prevent sticking.

Soup Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Broth

In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Add Broccoli

Once the broth is boiling, add the broccoli florets and let them cook for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.

  3. 6

    Cook the Wontons

Carefully drop the prepared wontons into the pot. Allow them to cook for about 5-6 minutes or until they float to the surface and are cooked through.

  4. 7

    Season the Soup

Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.

  5. 8

    Serve

Ladle the soup into bowls, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve hot.
