Cook the Rice
Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rinsed rice and 2 cups of water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork.

Stir-Fry the Protein
In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef, pork, chicken, or shrimp (choose one or mix as preferred) and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until cooked through. Remove the protein from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, water, and sugar. Stir until the cornstarch is fully dissolved.

Combine and Serve
Return the cooked protein to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the sauce over the mixture and stir well to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with black pepper to taste. Serve the stir-fried mixture over the cooked jasmine rice.
