Prepare the Ingredients
Rinse the bean sprouts under cold water and drain. Cut the firm tofu into small cubes. Slice the green onions thinly, separating the white parts from the green tops. If using meat, cut it into thin strips.

Sauté the Protein
In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef, chicken, pork, or shrimp and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Cook the Tofu
In the same skillet, add the cubed tofu and sauté until golden brown on all sides, about 4-5 minutes.

Combine Ingredients
Add the rinsed bean sprouts and the cooked protein back into the skillet. Pour in the soy sauce, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the bean sprouts are tender but still crunchy.
Serving

Garnish and Serve
Transfer the flaming bean sprouts to a serving platter. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chili flakes on top for garnish. Serve hot with steamed rice or as a side dish.
