Method

Brewing the Tea

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chrysanthemum Flowers

Measure 2 tablespoons of dried chrysanthemum flowers and set them aside.

  2. 2

    Boil the Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

    Steep the Flowers

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add the chrysanthemum flowers. Cover and let steep for 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Strain the Tea

After steeping, strain the tea into a teapot or a heatproof pitcher to remove the flowers.

Serving the Tea

  1. 5

    Optional Sweetening

If desired, add honey to the strained tea and stir until dissolved. Adjust to taste.

  2. 6

    Serving Hot

Serve the tea hot in cups. Optionally, add a slice of lemon to each cup for added flavor.

  3. 7

    Serving Iced

To serve iced, allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with lemon slices, if desired.
