Method
Cocktail
Prepare fruit
If using whole passion fruit, cut in half and scoop out seeds and pulp. Measure about 2 tablespoons of pulp (including seeds). Strain only if you prefer a seed-free martini — otherwise include seeds for texture and visual appeal.
Chill glass
Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes or fill it with ice water while you build the cocktail to properly chill the glass.
Shake
Add vodka (2 oz), passion fruit pulp (2 tbs), passion fruit liqueur (0.5 oz), fresh orange juice (0.5 oz), fresh lime juice (0.5 oz), and simple syrup (0.5 tsp) to a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) to well above the liquid level. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and the mixture is well aerated.
Double strain (optional)
If you prefer a smoother drink, double-strain the shaken cocktail through a fine mesh strainer into the chilled glass to remove large ice chips and passion fruit solids. If you want seeds in the drink, skip the fine strain and pour with a single strainer.
Serve
Pour the cocktail into the chilled martini or coupe glass. Allow a small amount of foam to settle on top for an attractive finish.
Garnish
Float half a passion fruit (or a spoonful of extra pulp) on the surface of the martini or place it on the rim. Add a lime wheel or twist to the rim or float it on top. Serve immediately.
