1

Build and stir

Place a mixing glass or a pint glass on a bar towel. Add several large ice cubes (enough to come well above the level of the liquid). Pour in 1 oz Lussmanns Garden Gin, 1 oz Campari, and 1 oz sweet vermouth. Using a bar spoon, stir gently but thoroughly for 20–30 seconds (about 20–30 full rotations) until the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted β€” the outside of the glass should become lightly frosted.

2

Prepare glass

Select an old-fashioned (rocks) glass. If you prefer, place one large ice cube or a large spherical ice in the glass to minimize dilution.

3

Strain and garnish

Strain the chilled mixture from the mixing glass into the prepared rocks glass over the large ice. Express an orange peel over the drink by holding it skin-side down above the glass and giving it a firm twist to release the oils, then rub the peel around the rim and drop it into the drink as a garnish.

4

Serve immediately. For variations, swap the sweet vermouth for a different brand to adjust sweetness and herbal profile, or rinse the glass with barrel-aged bitters for a smoky note.
