Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Bacon
Cook the applewood smoked bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and place on paper towels to drain excess fat. Once cooled, chop into bite-sized pieces.
- 2
Prepare the Lettuce
Carefully remove the outer leaves of the iceberg lettuce. Cut the head of lettuce into quarters, creating wedges. Rinse each wedge under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- 3
Prepare the Tomatoes
Wash the cherry tomatoes under cold water. Cut them in half and set aside.
Assembly
- 4
Assemble the Wedge Salad
On a large plate, place one wedge of iceberg lettuce. Top with a generous handful of cherry tomato halves, followed by the chopped applewood smoked bacon. Sprinkle bleu cheese crumbles over the top.
- 5
Dress the Salad
Drizzle ranch dressing over the wedge salad to taste. Optionally, add additional bleu cheese crumbles or bacon bits if desired.
- 6
Serve
Serve immediately as a refreshing side or appetizer.
