Flatbread Preparation

Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes or until it becomes foamy.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

Combine Ingredients
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Add the foamy yeast mixture and olive oil into the well. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let Rise
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

Prepare Flatbread
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

Add Sauce and Toppings
Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a baking sheet. Spread a cup of classic red sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese, followed by the sliced elk sausage and pepperoni. Season with Italian seasoning and black pepper.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
