Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Puff Pastry

Thaw the puff pastry sheet according to package instructions and roll it out on a lightly floured surface.

Filling

  1. 3

    Cook the Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

  2. 4

    Add Seasoning

Stir in the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.

  3. 5

    Add Tomato Sauce and Cheese

Add the tomato sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese to the cooked beef. Stir until the cheese has melted and everything is combined.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Fill the Pastry

Place the puff pastry sheet on a baking sheet. Spoon the beef mixture onto one half of the pastry, leaving space around the edges.

  2. 7

    Fold and Seal

Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling. Press the edges to seal. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.

  3. 8

    Add Cotija Cheese

Sprinkle the cotija cheese over the top of the puff pastry.

Baking

  1. 9

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

  2. 10

    Garnish

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
