Prepare the Beef Patties
In a large bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center.

Add Cheese
After flipping the patties, place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Prepare the Veggies
While the patties are cooking, wash and slice the lettuce, tomato, and red onion.

Assemble the Burger
To assemble, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each potato roll. Add the cooked patty with melted cheese, followed by slices of tomato, red onion, and a few pickle chips. Top with the other half of the roll.

Serve
Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite side dishes.
