Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the day-old bread into cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Mix the Custard
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, bourbon, and salt until well combined.

Combine and Soak
Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, making sure all pieces are well coated. Allow to soak for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Bake the Pudding
Transfer the soaked bread mixture to a greased baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
