Glass & Garnish

Method

Glass & Garnish

1

Prepare the glass

Pour the kosher salt onto a small plate. Run the lime wedge around the outer rim of the rocks glass to moisten. Immediately dip the rim into the salt and twist to coat an even ring. Set the glass aside to dry slightly.

2

Cut the reserved lime wedge in half for garnish and set aside on the glass rim after pouring.

Mocktail Base & Sweetener

3

Juice and measure

In a small measuring cup or jigger, combine fresh lime juice (1 oz), fresh lemon juice (0.25 oz), orange juice (0.5 oz) and agave syrup (0.5 oz). Stir briefly to dissolve the agave into the citrus.

Mixing & Serving

4

Build the Mockarita

Fill the prepared rocks glass about three-quarters full with large ice cubes (about 4–6 cubes). Pour the citrus-agave mixture over the ice.

5

Add the nonalcoholic triple sec (0.5 oz) and, if using, the nonalcoholic tequila alternative (0.5 oz). Gently stir once or twice with a bar spoon to combine the components and chill the drink.

6

Top with 2 oz chilled club soda (or sparkling water) to add effervescence. If you prefer a slightly more diluted mocktail, add up to 1 oz more soda.

7

Spoon or mound about 1 cup of crushed ice on top (optional) to achieve the classic frozen/short style and to keep the drink very cold.

8

Garnish the glass with the reserved lime wedge (set on the rim) and serve immediately with a short straw or stirrer. Serve in the salted-rimmed rocks glass as described.
