Serving & Extras

Method

Burger Slider

1

Form patty

Gently shape the 2 oz ground beef into a small round patty about 2.5–3 inches wide and roughly 1/2 inch thick. Avoid overworking the meat to keep it tender. Make a very slight shallow indent in the center with your thumb to reduce puffing while cooking.

2

Season

Lightly season both sides of the patty with the measured salt and black pepper.

3

Cook patty

Heat a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1/2 tsp vegetable oil and swirl to coat. When the oil is shimmering, place the patty in the pan. Cook for about 1.5–2 minutes on the first side without pressing. Flip and cook another 1.5–2 minutes for medium doneness (adjust time slightly for preferred doneness). Total cook time should be about 3–4 minutes.

4

Toast bun

While the patty rests for 1 minute off the heat, lightly butter the inside of the mini slider bun if using. Return skillet to low heat and toast bun cut-sides down for 20–30 seconds until golden — watch closely so it doesn't burn.

5

Assemble

Place the cooked patty on the bottom bun. Spoon or squeeze 1 tbs ketchup onto the patty (or the top bun) and close with the top bun. Serve immediately.

Fries

6

Prepare fries (oven/toaster oven or air fryer)

For safety and consistency with a kids meal, use the package directions for the 2 oz portion. If using an oven: preheat to 425°F (220°C). Spread the frozen fries in a single layer on a small baking sheet, lightly brush or spray with the 1 tsp vegetable oil, and bake 10–12 minutes until golden and crisp, turning once halfway. If using an air fryer: preheat to 400°F (200°C) and cook 6–8 minutes, shaking halfway, until crisp. If deep-frying at home, cook at 350°F (175°C) until golden (about 2–3 minutes) — drain on paper towel.

7

Season fries

As soon as fries come out hot, sprinkle with 1/8 tsp salt and toss gently to distribute. Transfer to the plate beside the slider.

Serving & Extras

8

Serve the slider and fries together with an additional 1 tbs ketchup in a small ramekin for dipping. Let food cool slightly to a safe temperature for a child, and check that the burger is fully cooked to your preference before serving.
