Method
Shrimp Salad Preparation
- 1
Poach the Shrimp
Fill a medium pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat and drain. Let cool, then chop into bite-sized pieces.
- 2
Prepare the Vegetables
While the shrimp cools, finely chop the celery and red onion. Place them in a mixing bowl.
- 3
Mix the Salad
In the bowl with the celery and onion, add the poached shrimp, Old Bay seasoning, mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
Bun Preparation
- 4
Butter the Buns
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on the cut sides of each bun.
- 5
Toast the Buns
Place the buns in the skillet, cut side down, and toast until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
Assembly
- 6
Assemble the Sandwich
Spoon a generous amount of the shrimp salad onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Cover with the top half of the bun.
