Pasta

Method

Pasta

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and oregano. Simmer for about 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained pasta to the sauce in the skillet. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce. Stir in fresh chopped basil and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well.

Salad

  1. 4

    Prepare the Salad

In a large bowl, combine mixed salad greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion.

  2. 5

    Make the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together 3 tablespoons of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.

  3. 6

    Dress the Salad

Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.

Parmesan Breadsticks

  1. 7

    Prepare the Pastry

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut into strips about 1 inch wide.

  2. 8

    Add Cheese and Seasoning

Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and dried oregano evenly over the strips.

  3. 9

    Shape the Breadsticks

Twist each strip and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush each stick with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

  4. 10

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
