Cooking Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

Cook Spaghetti
Add spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually 8-10 minutes.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain spaghetti and set aside.
Making Classic Red Sauce

Add Tomatoes and Spices
Stir in canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer.

Simmer Sauce
Let the sauce simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine ground beef (or turkey), breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, and salt. Mix until just combined.

Form Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

Cook Meatballs
In a skillet, brown the meatballs over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes, turning to brown all sides. Then, reduce heat and let them cook through for another 10 minutes.
Combining Everything

Combine Pasta and Sauce
In a large serving dish, toss the cooked spaghetti with the classic red sauce until well coated.

Add Vegetables and Meatballs
Top the spaghetti with sautéed vegetables and place the meatballs on top.

Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese if desired and serve hot.
