Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Cook Spaghetti

In a large pot of boiling salted water, add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook Ravioli

In the same pot, add the meat ravioli and cook in boiling water according to package instructions, usually about 4-5 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Making the Meatballs

  1. 3

    Prepare Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 4

    Form Meatballs

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

  3. 5

    Cook Meatballs

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Preparing the Sauce

  1. 6

    Sauté Garlic

In the same skillet used for the meatballs, add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 7

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in crushed tomatoes, basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Combining the Dish

  1. 8

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked spaghetti and ravioli to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.

  2. 9

    Add Meatballs

Gently place the meatballs on top of the pasta and sauce mixture.

  1. 10

    Garnish and Serve

Serve the mezzo mezzo hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and additional Parmesan cheese.
