Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Manicotti

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the manicotti tubes and cook for about 6-8 minutes until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking. Set aside.

Cheese Filling Preparation

  1. 2

    Make the Cheese Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, Gorgonzola cheese, and Fontina cheese. Mix well until combined. Stir in the egg, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley until fully incorporated.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Marinara Sauce

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5-10 minutes, then remove from heat.

Stuffing and Assembling

  1. 4

    Stuff the Manicotti

Using a piping bag or a spoon, fill each manicotti tube with the cheese filling. Place the stuffed manicotti in a baking dish.

  2. 5

    Add Sauce

Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the stuffed manicotti. Ensure that all tubes are well covered.

Baking

  1. 6

    Bake the Manicotti

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil, sprinkle with extra Parmesan cheese, and bake for another 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh basil before serving.
