For the Garlic Cheese Bread

For the Cheese Curds

Method

Prepare the Garlic Cheese Bread

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Make Garlic Butter

In a bowl, mix the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  3. 3

    Prepare Bread

Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and place it cut-side up on a baking sheet.

  4. 4

    Spread Garlic Butter

Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.

  5. 5

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese generously over the buttered bread.

  6. 6

    Bake Bread

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.

Prepare the Cheese Curds

  1. 7

    Set Up Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs.

  2. 8

    Bread Cheese Curds

Coat each cheese curd first in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and finally roll in breadcrumbs until well coated.

  3. 9

    Heat Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 10

    Fry Cheese Curds

Carefully add the breaded cheese curds to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 11

    Season

Sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste while still hot.

Make the Red Sauce

  1. 12

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.

  2. 13

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, and add dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

  3. 14

    Simmer Sauce

Bring to a simmer and let cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

  4. 15

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary.
