Chicken Wings

Method

Preparation of Chicken Wings

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Chicken Wings

Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Place them in a large bowl.

  3. 3

    Season the Wings

Sprinkle the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder over the chicken wings. Drizzle the vegetable oil over the wings and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning.

  4. 4

    Arrange on Baking Sheet

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet and arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack.

Cooking the Wings

  1. 5

    Bake the Wings

Bake the chicken wings in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, turning them halfway through until they are crispy and golden brown.

Preparing Sauces

  1. 6

    Make Buffalo Sauce

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the hot sauce, unsalted butter, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Stir until the butter is melted and the sauce is well combined.

  2. 7

    Make Barbecue Sauce

In another saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.

Serving

  1. 8

    Toss the Wings

Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven. Divide the wings into two bowls. Toss half of the wings in the buffalo sauce and the other half in the barbecue sauce until they are evenly coated.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve the wings hot with celery sticks and your choice of dipping sauce.
