Method
Preparation
- 1
Clean the Clams
Rinse the fresh clams under cold water to remove any sand or grit. Discard any clams that are open and do not close when tapped.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Making the Topping
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, grated Parmesan cheese, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly combined and the breadcrumbs are slightly moist.
Baking the Clams
- 4
Arrange the Clams
Place the cleaned clams on a baking sheet, with the hinge side down, so they remain closed during baking.
- 5
Top the Clams
Spoon the breadcrumb mixture generously over each clam, pressing down slightly to ensure it adheres.
- 6
Bake
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the clams are cooked through.
Serving
- 7
Serve Hot
Remove the baked clams from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy them hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
