Smashburger Ingredients

Method

Smashburger Directions

1

Prepare the Beef Patties

Divide the ground beef into two equal portions, about 8 ounces each. Gently form them into loose balls, being careful not to compact the meat too much.

2

Heat the Griddle

Preheat a flat griddle or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot.

3

Smash the Patties

Place the beef balls on the hot griddle. Using a heavy spatula or a burger press, smash the meat down into a thin patty. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until a crust forms.

4

Season and Flip

Season the patties with salt and pepper. Carefully flip them over and place a slice of cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.

5

Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the griddle until golden brown.

6

Assemble the Smashburger

Place the cooked patties on the bottom half of the toasted buns. Top with lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Place the top bun over the assembled ingredients.

7

Serve

Serve the smashburger immediately while hot with your favorite sides.
