Method

Preparation of Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the ribeye steaks with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F or 230°C). If using a charcoal grill, allow the coals to burn down until they're covered with white ash.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steaks on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and grill for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if desired.

  2. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Preparation of Chips

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into thin strips. Rinse them under cold water and pat dry with a kitchen towel.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Cooking the Chips

  1. 7

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches and fry until golden brown and crispy (about 4-6 minutes). Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  2. 8

    Season the Chips

While the chips are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.

Preparation of Salad

  1. 9

    Prepare the Salad Ingredients

Wash and dry the mixed salad greens, and slice the cucumber. Halve the cherry tomatoes.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 10

    Mix the Salad

In a large bowl, combine the salad greens, cucumber slices, and cherry tomatoes.

  2. 11

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss gently to coat all ingredients.
