Base

Method

Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a separate bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add in the granulated sugar and mix until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Bake the Base

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Filling Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare Cream Cheese Mixture

In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until well blended.

  2. 8

    Add Heavy Cream and Lemon

Slowly add the heavy cream and lemon juice to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency.

Assembly and Topping

  1. 9

    Cool the Base

Once the base has finished baking, allow it to cool completely in the baking dish.

  2. 10

    Spread the Filling

Once cooled, spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the base.

  3. 11

    Add Toppings

Top with fresh berries and garnish with mint leaves. Cut into squares and serve.
