Method

Brownies

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugars and Eggs

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Stir until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

  5. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips into the brownie batter.

  7. 7

    Bake the Brownies

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  8. 8

    Cool and Cut

Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve with Ice Cream

Cut the cooled brownies into squares. Serve each brownie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
