Build and shake
Chill your glass by filling it with ice or placing it in the freezer for a few minutes. Add 2 oz Ketel One vodka, 0.5 oz freshly squeezed lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup to a cocktail shaker. Add 8 ice cubes to the shaker. Seal and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes frosty and well chilled.

Strain
Discard the ice from your chilled serving glass (if used). Use a strainer to double-strain (if desired) the shaken cocktail into the chilled rocks glass over fresh ice, or into a chilled coupe served neat. If you prefer a longer, lighter drink, top with about 1 oz soda water and gently stir once to combine.

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.

Adjust sweetness by increasing or decreasing the simple syrup in 0.25 oz increments. For a citrus-forward version, substitute lemon juice for lime. Use freshly squeezed juices for best flavor.
